Too often, caregivers spend so much time caring for others’ needs that they neglect their own. Follow these 10 tips to be an effective and healthy caregiver
I think these are all good ideas, but I think we could all just 'decide' not to eat everything in sight and just keep it to the right portion. We all love food and it seems when we're enjoying a meal we tend to go back for seconds because it tastes so good, whether we're hungry or not. Personally, because I had the stomach flu for a couple days, I hadn't eaten much and I took that opportunity to 'decide' that since my stomach had been used to little food that I would start cutting down my portions to what I think is better for me. I'm eating spinach every day, lots of fish and other veggies, and smaller amounts, and snacking on fruit during meals. And my exercise routine has gotten better too!! As a result, I have dropped at least 5 pounds and feel wonderful...instead of feeling like a pig because I ate too much. It's so easy just to eat less!! My question to anyone would be...what is the normal portion of food we should be consuming per meal...is it a handful, two? What's the formula if there is one? I feel better than I have in a long time and it didn't take much effort at all...unfortunately it took having the flu to get me started, but that's ok. Good luck to everyone!!
